Mrs. Thompson, Kindergarten

I have a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.  I have taken various masters courses, completed the Orton-Gillingham Infusion Training through the Rochester Reading Center and hold a Minnesota teaching license.  Currently I am working toward synod certification through Martin Luther College in New Ulm.

I received a divine call from Resurrection & Life Lutheran Church in June 2013, and it has been a joy and a blessing to teach in a Lutheran elementary school ever since.   I also enjoy teaching preschoolers at “Jesus & Me” during church on Sunday.

My experiences range from teaching in-home childcare, Sunday School, Pioneers and VBS to my public school experiences in Kindergarten through 6th Grade.   I have also enjoyed teaching at Quarry Hill Nature Center, in 3rd-5th grade “BEST Academy” (an after-school program for extra academic support), substitute teaching, and working as a paraprofessional as well as Title 1 teacher in elementary and middle school.  I have served as an assistant volleyball coach at RLS and enjoy working with the older Rams as well!

My husband, Mike, and I have two children.  Tori is a junior in college and Matthew is a senior in high school.  We are active in team and outdoor sports like football, volleyball, hockey and track.  Camping, fishing and canoeing top the recreational side of things.

The song “In Christ Alone” gives me strength.   One of my favorite Bible passages is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:  “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
